This short but sweet Uganda safari takes you into Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to view gorillas and then on to Uganda's most famous park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, which has the best game viewing in the country. It is a perfect as a stand alone trip or as an extension to a longer East African experience.

Minimum age is 15 years, people with flu or transmittable diseases are not allowed to be in the presence of gorillas.

Day 1, 2 - Bwindi National Park, Gorilla Trek

Pick up from Entebbe hotel and transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Kihihi airstrip. From here we meet you and drive to Bwindi National Park. Balance of afternoon free to explore the area. Overnight Buhoma Lodge. 

Next day is an amazing, full day - hiking in the forest to your selected group or family of gorillas - its a special experience and the hour you spend with them seems to fly by. You do need to be reasonably fit to walk up into the forest and back down again!

Days 3, 4, 5 - Queen Elizabeth National Park

Optional second gorilla tracking or forest walk in Bwindi Forest/village visit/curio shopping and then drive to Ishasha, southern sector of QENP. En route to Ishasha option - visit COMMUNITY PROJECT 

The park is named after Queen Elizabeth II and was established in 1954. The park was later renamed Ruwenzori before it returned to its royal name. QENP is known for its wildlife, although many animals were killed in the Uganda-Tanzania War. Many species have recovered, including hippopotami, elephants, leopards, lions and chimpanzees; it is now home to 95 species of mammal and over 500 species of birds. The area around Ishasha in Rukungiri District is famous for its tree-climbing lions, whose males sport black manes, a feature unique to the lions in this area. The park is also famous for its volcanic features, comprising volcanic cones and deep craters, many with crater lakes such as Lake Katwe, from which salt is extracted.

Stay at Ishasha Wilderness camp.

Days 6 - Depart

Transfer back to Kihihi Airstrip for return flight to Entebbe or onward journey
